Updated Western PA CoC Written Standards Available

Over the past few months, the Western PA CoC Written Standards Committee has worked to update the CoC’s Written Standards for Providing Assistance. The updated Written Standards have been approved by the Board as of March 30th. All CoC- and ESG-funded programs must abide by the updated CoC Written Standards. Programs that do not receive CoC or ESG funds are also encouraged to conform to the Written Standards to the greatest extent possible. Most of the Written Standards are not new (although some sections have been added and enanced); however, if your CoC- or ESG-funded program identifies any standards that your program is not following, you will be asked to fully adopt all standards by September 1st, 2021.  The CoC will provide training on the updated standards in April or May (more info to come). These trainings will be required for CoC- and ESG-funded providers. You can view the updated Standards and supplementary materials on the CoC website (West Governance page), or click the links below:

• Written Standards, approved 3/30/21
• Templates for CoC and ESG-funded Programs (Supplemental Resource to the Written Standards): These templates are provided as a resource for CoC homeless service providers (specifically CoC- and ESG-funded providers), to ensure that providers have the tools to comply with HUD requirements and the CoC Written Standards. Use of these specific templates is not required by the CoC.
